Menhir

This design proposal was created by Durow Studios as an integrated monumental site-specific sculpture to serve as a civic gateway to the heart of Salisbury, MD. Inspired by ancient megaliths knows as menhir’s, or ‘long stones’ these timeless forms are used to denote significant moments, places and events. Here, this pair of carved and weathered granite stones mark the symbolic point between the past and future of the city.
