Little Rock City Hall

This work was finalist for the historic Little Rock City Hall’s new public plaza. The design was a contemporary yet timeless artwork and art-integrated environment to welcome and engage visitors to City Hall, the cherished Robinson Center, as well as pedestrians and bikers as they pass over the Broadway Bridge. This design was a dramatic reinterpretation of the classic Renaissance Revival style of the historic City Hall and incorporate elements of the renovated Robinson Center. Activating an important corner in downtown Little Rock this work was designed to promote a visual connection to the riverfront greenway.

Given the public and civic nature of the site, I wanted to create a hopeful and aspirational work that speaks to the nature of why we as humans inherently desire to form strong communal relationships; namely, as a society we are better when we come together and that our strength as a community comes as a direct result of our individual differences.
